ADA Signs for Toilet Room Entry Doors

There are many requirements for public toilet rooms to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Signage at the entry door for a public toilet room is one of these requirements. 2010 ADA Standards 216.8 and 703 cover these requirements for toilet rooms. Recently on a road trip in Florida, I found an installation that exceeds these requirements. Please see the photo on the right. In the photo above there are two signs at this entry door to an accessible Men’s toilet room. Only one is required by the ADA Standards, the one on the right. See the requirements below ADA Toilet Rooms and Bathing Rooms, states, “Where existing toilet rooms or bathing rooms do not comply with [Standard] 603, directional signs indicating the location of the nearest toilet room or bathing room complying with [Standard] 603 within the facility shall be provided. Signs shall comply with nd shall include the International Symbol of Accessibility complying with [Standard] 703.7.2.1. Where exi

FESTIVAL INSPIRATION THE FESTIVAL INSPIRATION

This past weekend, I attended Coachella for some weekend fun in the desert. As you guys may already know, this festival always brings in the coolest fashion and looks. What are some of your favorite accessories or hairstyles for festival season? Please share them below! Tony Moly I’m Rose Hand Cream It seems like nobody’s caught on to the fact Tonymoly makes the perfect dainty hand cream. Take one look at the packaging and one whi

Techno Economic Evaluation and Feasibility Analysis of a Hybrid Net Zero Energy Building in Pakistan: A Case Study of Hospital

The current study is an economic evaluation and feasibility study of hybrid microgrid Net Zero Energy Buildings in Pakistan. A Net Zero Energy approach is proposed for a two-story hospital building situated in Taxila, Pakistan. Consequently, to design a hybrid Net Zero Energy Building, the solar radiation potential of the subject location and electricity usage of the hospital are estimated. The proposed hybrid microgrid Net Zero Energy Building comprises photovoltaic modules and converters. However, the thermal load is computed as a grid-connected hybrid system. Economic evaluation is performed by using economic indicators of the net present cost and the payback period. Also, initial and operational costs are determined, to determine the profitability of the project. Results show that the analysis is a cost-effective approach and has a payback period of 2.53y. Additionally, the per-unit cost of electricity is reduced to 0.12 USD/kWh. Moreover, the energy produced by a hybrid system

Farming insights Udder care

Udder health is of major importance to milk production , cow welfare and farmer working pleasure. Basically, every case of mastitis occurs due to bacteria that enter the udder via the teat sphincter and teat canal. The teat canal and the teat sphincter are the first and most important line of defence. On a teat where the skin is strong, smooth and flexible, bacteria have the least chance of finding a home. In this article you will find some practical tips for keeping cows’ teats in perfect shape. It all starts with having the right milk settings and liners during milking, as milking puts quite a lot of mechanical force on the teat. Remember, on average 60 pulses per minute for 5 minutes for 2.5 milkings per day equals 750 squeezes per day!  The skin is a natural barrier that protects the body against external intruders. For this purpose, the surface of the skin has a protective acid mantle with a pH of about 5.5. It takes a certain amount of effort to get or to keep the skin in good
